About Us

MOPS International, Inc. understands that the years from infancy through kindergarten are essential in building healthy relationships between mothers and their children, but also bring unique challenges. MOPS also recognizes that few experiences are as unifying as motherhood. Through changing diapers, wiping tears, teaching skills, and struggling through our own parenting growth spurts we find common ground with other women. In that understanding, MOPS desires to bring together women from all places in life so that we may learn from each other in an environment that challenges us to be the women and mothers that God created us to be.

Additionally, rather than just offering babysitting, MOPS provides a Moppets program with age appropriate curriculum where your children will sing songs, make crafts, play games, learn who Jesus is and why it is important to help others.

At Harvest MOPS we have several specific goals for this year:
1) We want to see our group including women from EVERY walk of life. If you live in a nice home or a run down apartment; if you grew up in the church or don't believe in God; if you come with your make up done or barely making it out of bed we hope you walk through our doors!

2) We want to serve our community and teach our kids what it means to serve others. Every month we will have a different service project. Most months that will mean engaging your kids in donating a single item already in your house (if you can) along a particular theme (i.e. toys, winter clothes, etc). In the early spring we will do a hands on service project with a local Teen MOPS group.

3) We want to learn how to love each other better.  Many, if not all, of us feel compelled to do it all on our own. We are capable women who see what needs to be done and we do the best we can. The reality of our efforts often leads to a much more isolated life then we were designed to live. MOPS is community, and in that community we want to learn how to set aside our pride, our posture, and learn how to say "yes, I'd love to help you" or "yes, I could use some help."

We have a young steering team that is excited about the opportunity we have with this group to influence the lives of women and children in our community. There are some entry level positions available on steering team, so if you have a desire to jump in please let one of us know at the meetings.

Harvest Presbyterian Church is our chartering Church and has hosted a MOPS group for many years.  You do not need to be a member of Harvest or any church to attend MOPS. If you are searching for a church home we encourage you to check out the opportunities at Harvest. You can find information at their website http://www.harvestpca.com.
